Special Workshop: The Architecture of Emotion
On the Boards
Cities: Conversations in the Court of the Khan, UMO's newest creation, premieres at On The Boards on June 7th, 2001. Join UMO Ensemble in a special workshop in conjunction with this production. Based on work from the Laboratory of the Study of Movement by French master Jacques Lecoq, this workshop will explore the mechanics of emotion and the architecture of feelings.
Dissecting space interior and exterior to the human body, we will look at how physical spaces correspond with emotional spaces, and how we can evoke feeling through the creation of different kinds of space. This class is an intensive in dynamics, open to actors, directors and scenic artists. Be prepared to move, sculpt and draw. Please wear comfortable clothing for movement, and bring a sketch pad (minimum size 8.5x11) and a pencil.
When: June 23rd and 24th, 2001, 10am - 3pm

Cost: $120; Registration and $50 deposit due by June 15th.
