Late Summer Intensive:
Writing, Creating Original Performance

September 2001
Vashon Island

The Summer Intensive is an opportunity for performers to hone their skills of visioning, designing and creating their own original materials for performance. Each day will consist of three sessions. The first is a physical class focused on the body as a tool for creation; skill work that includes the dynamics of space and the elements as sources to create. The second session will focus on specific aspects of creating, such as voice, writing and rhythm. Lastly, the evenings sessions will be devoted to studio/lab research where students will work on design and creation of their own material. The intensive will culminate in a showing of these works.

This week-long training will take place on beautiful Vashon Island.
Students will stay at Camp Burton Conference Center, located on the shores of Puget Sound.
