The ensemble and acclaimed playwright Trista Baldwin explore five clowns being shut out, in need, desperate to connect and vying for control of territory. Three simple platforms and a series of ladders connect or obstruct them all. Two stunning acrobats magically weave between personal vignettes that explore the issues of today's world.

UMO and an amazing group of guest artists – featuring “garbage” buffoons, ladies in white, aerialists, musicians, singers, dancers, burlesque artists and more – explore and explode in bold entertainment with the vital help of the audience.
The UMO Cabaret is a community-engaging spectacle which can be shaped and altered to meet your themes and event needs. Examples include a festival street-roving format, and a venue-based versions, and a politically-themed “Resistance Cabaret”.
Fail Better
A love story, between UMO and Beckett. With a teeter totter. And ropes. UMO explores the thoughts, themes, characters and images inspired by the writing of Samuel Beckett with FAIL BETTER, their critically acclaimed love letter to Samuel Beckett. Five archetypal Beckett characters tackle love, life, death, and going-on in typical Beckett fashion: with humor, metaphor, stillness, and gross indecency – creating a living, visceral experience. Their exploration takes them into the air on aerial ropes, balancing on a giant sculptural teeter totter and reacting in a sonic world that is the imagined inside of Beckett’s head.

Red nose monk clowns weave Buddhist, Zen and Sufi stories with mask, puppets, music – and breathtaking physical skill. The UMO Ensemble clowns tackle life head-on… dangling from a rope, juggling or balancing…singing and clowning. Red Tiger Tales is a delight for the whole family.
El Dorado
Created by UMO Ensemble in the style of ‘Buffoon Theatre,’ El Dorado’s grotesque, fantastical, irreverent Buffoons play at humanity and mock our follies, casting knowing glances at our obsession with power. El Dorado focuses on the Spanish conquistadors’ quest for the legendary “Kingdom of Gold” in the Americas. UMO’s buffoons direct their darkly comic, unbridled energies into a re-visitation of this quest, searching ruthlessly for the city of El Dorado and its mysterious secrets and treasures.
